A C E Director's Note
|
In view of the influence that celebrities have in our culture today, I would like to share my thoughts about a recent Larry King show with guests Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey.
I think that although they are wonderful advocates and bring the topic of Autism to the forefront where it needs to be, and they present a strong case for our continued probing into the vaccines as a possible factor, I was disappointed that they did not discuss with Larry King the most important way to help these children now, which in my opinion is Applied Behavioral Analysis.
This is the only time tested, scientifically proven, methodology which was and does make real progress now for children on the spectrum.
Yes, we need to look into causes in our environment, but we also need to discuss what is working for children today!
I would love to hear Jenny talk about the ABA her son received and the difference it has made in his quality of life, as we see it making in children here in New York every day!
Sincerely,
Sue Lerner
